Traditional Fishing Basket by the Mehinako people – handmade using Buriti Fibers.

The Mehinako are indigenous people of Brazil – who reside in the Indigenous Park of the Xingu, located around the headwaters of the Xingu River Mato Grosso.

Known as dream interpreters, they make a deliberate effort to recall and interpret their dreams to help them guide their way through the day.

Originally used for carrying and storing fresh fish. These unique baskets are deep in design and make useful decorative objects in the home, and are perfect for storing fresh fruits, and other objects, or simply by themselves.
