Using only the young persimmon leaves cultivated in early April, persimmon tea contains 10 times as much vitamin C as a grapefruit. It has excellent effects for preventing diseases, cold, and hypertension while still having a wonderful taste and aroma.
Throughout the centuries, Persimmon trees were planted in numerous households in Korea for its healthy effects. Scientific research has shown that Persimmon leaf contains up to 10 times the amount of Vitamin C, tannins, and essential amino acid compared to other fruits and vegetables.
Persimmon leaf tea promotes a healthy metabolism as it lowers blood pressure and increase blood flow. It is a caffeine-free drink that anyone can enjoy on a daily basis.
Properly stored, tea will generally stay at best quality for about 24 months, stored in airtight containers and kept refrigerated. For opened packages, we recommend consuming the tea within 6 months.
To brew, add two teaspoons (2-3g) of tea to 300ml of boiling water and steep for 3-4 minutes. It can be re-steeped up to 4-5 times depending on how strong you like your tea. For Iced, go through the same method with slighty less water.
At first, you will see a bright red brew and the more you re-steep, it will gradually turn closer to a light green color. You may re-steep the tea until all the color and flavour gradually fades out. For Iced, go through the same method with slighty less water.
