Jurgen Lehl
Designer Jurgen Lehl (1944–2014) lived in harmony with nature, constantly reminding people of its value. Born in Poland and of German descent, he moved to Japan in 1971 and founded his fashion and textiles brand the following year. Expanding into home goods, he later launched Babaghuri in 2006, focusing on sustainable, handmade products.
In his final work, Lehl transformed plastic waste from beaches into beautiful lighting implements, giving new purpose to harmful materials. His exhibition, The End of Civilization, alongside his beloved Babaghuri agates, conveys his lasting message of respect for nature. Though he passed in 2014, his legacy continues to inspire.
