Estudio Vernís is a workshop that celebrates the craft of pottery and the unpredictability of clay and wood-firing. Each piece is handcrafted individually in their studio located in Castell de Castells. Their ceramics are designed to be timeless, functional, and honest, evolving over time.
Founded in 2019 in the mountains of Alicante by Alejandra and Coke, the duo aimed to create items that resonate with their identity through the use of their hands and local natural resources.
They envision a world where every object reflects the traces of its maker's hands. This philosophy is evident in every stage of their process, from pinching the clay to formulating glazes and foraging for wood. Their touches are imprinted on each piece, leaving a mark in a durable and organic material, all while employing traditional techniques and utilizing local resources.
The final products result from a continuous learning experience, influenced by both the materials and the creative process. This allows them to control the pace and shape the outcome of their work.
