Due to the nature of the process, each piece has a beautifully unpredictable finish that varies from batch to batch. Please expect slight variations in size, form, and glaze compared to the pictured piece.
All of Estudio Vernís' pieces are made from high-quality stoneware and fired to high temperature (1280ºC), which makes the final pieces extremely strong. However, as with any other artisanal product, we recommend you treat them with more care than you would with an industrial product.
What makes the pieces unique can also make them more delicate.
All our glazes are specially formulated by Estudio Vernís to enhance wood-firing, ensuring they are food-safe and durable over time.
CLEANING
Both the stoneware and the glazes used are dishwasher friendly – nevertheless, we recommend washing by hand to prolong its life.
PASSAGE OF TIME
The appearance of the pieces may change with the passing of time, sun exposure, and use, especially on unglazed surfaces. The piece will age alongside you and its look will be a result of all of its experiences.
Crackles may appear over time and can stain naturally due to the use of high-colored liquids, like coffee or tea. Since all of our pieces are fired at high temperatures, all of them are vitrified properly so there is nothing toxic or dangerous that can leach out from the crackle glazes.
